Independence Day special!! This year's independence day (15th Aug) was on a a Thursday followed by Raksha Bandhan on Monday (19th Aug). With a planned or a sick leave on Friday, this becomes a super long weekend with 5 days at a stretch.  This is usually a very busy time of the year for me at work and also my elder daughter who has her exam on 16th. An impromptu plan got its place and we headed out to Khandi Point. Map showed 70kms distance with a travel time of 2h 15 min. We packed the required stuff, had a yummy brunch of Rajma rice and started off. It was yet another road trip in our XUV700. The roads were good, not much of traffic except for a bottle neck near the toll plaza. There's a single road for around 26km which leads to Khandi Point. The views on the way were good with not much downpour, fog visible above the mountains.
