Kaas Plateau - Valley of flowers
Monsoon was almost retreating in Pune, though the showers had been inconsistent this year - started earlier and continued till later than usual. Kaas plateau in Satara district of Maharashtra is known for its variety of flowers that bloom towards the end of monsoon. We planned to start at 6am but started only by 6:50am. It was a 3-hour drive according to the maps. The morning weather was cool and clear with beautiful views of the nature all along the way that looked like sceneries. 30kms before the destination, we stopped at "Bananaa Leaf" for a delicious South Indian breakfast. Every dish was worth relishing. After spending almost 40mins there, we started towards kaas plateau. We reached the kaas parking by 10:45am.
